Shipping & Delivery Policy
Last Updated: September 11, 2026
Northpark Containers is committed to providing a straightforward and reliable delivery experience. We offer free standard shipping on eligible container orders delivered within the contiguous United States.
Our standard delivery service generally includes transportation, mobilization of the necessary delivery equipment, and standard off-loading at the customer’s delivery site, provided that the site meets the applicable access, clearance, and site-preparation requirements.
1. Shipping Costs
Free Standard Shipping
Northpark Containers offers free standard shipping on eligible container orders delivered within the contiguous United States.
Free standard shipping applies to standard delivery arrangements and does not necessarily include special delivery services, difficult-access locations, additional equipment, or other services outside the normal delivery process.
What Standard Shipping Includes
Where applicable, standard shipping includes:
- Transportation to the delivery location
- Standard fuel and transportation costs
- Mobilization of standard delivery equipment
- Standard off-loading of the container at the customer’s site
The price displayed for an eligible product includes standard delivery as described above. If additional charges are required because of unusual site conditions, special equipment, restricted access, or customer-requested services, Northpark Containers will communicate those charges before proceeding whenever reasonably possible.
2. Order Processing & Delivery Times
Orders are generally processed and scheduled according to the following estimated timeline:
- Order Processing: Approximately 1–3 business days
- Transit Time: Approximately 3–7 business days
- Estimated Total Delivery Time: Approximately 4–10 business days following order confirmation
Order processing may include:
- Confirmation of the order and payment
- Unit assignment
- Product inspection
- Transportation scheduling
- Carrier coordination
- Delivery-site coordination
The 4–10 business day timeframe is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date. Actual delivery times may vary depending on the destination, carrier availability, weather, road conditions, transportation schedules, and other circumstances beyond Northpark Containers’ reasonable control.
Certain products may have different processing or delivery schedules. Where a product-specific delivery timeframe is expressly stated in an invoice, Proforma Invoice, order confirmation, or other written agreement, that product-specific timeframe may apply.
3. Order Cut-Off & Processing
Our general order processing cut-off is:
2:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday
Orders placed after the applicable cut-off time, on weekends, or on applicable federal holidays will generally begin processing on the next business day.
Business days are generally considered Monday through Friday, excluding applicable federal holidays.
Processing times may vary depending on product availability, payment confirmation, carrier scheduling, and other order-specific circumstances.
4. Specialized Delivery Methods
Northpark Containers commonly uses tilt-bed trailers and other specialized commercial equipment to deliver shipping containers.
Tilt-Bed Delivery
For containers delivered by tilt-bed trailer, the driver will position the trailer at or near the designated delivery area and use the trailer’s hydraulic or mechanical system to place the container at the delivery location.
This delivery method can generally eliminate the need for the customer to provide a crane or forklift, provided that the delivery site has adequate access, clearance, surface conditions, and space for the delivery equipment.
The exact delivery method may vary depending on the container, destination, carrier, and site conditions.
5. Delivery Site Requirements
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the delivery site and access route are properly prepared before the scheduled delivery.
Surface Conditions
The delivery area should be:
- Firm and stable
- Reasonably level or appropriately graded
- Free of excessive mud, standing water, or unstable ground
- Capable of supporting the weight of the container and delivery equipment
Depending on the site and delivery method, suitable surfaces may include concrete, gravel, compacted soil, or other sufficiently firm ground.
Northpark Containers does not determine whether a particular property is structurally suitable for supporting a container. Customers should consult an appropriately qualified professional when necessary.
Access and Straight-Line Clearance
Adequate space is required for the delivery truck and trailer to safely access the property and position the container.
As a general guideline:
- 20ft containers: Approximately 60 feet of straight-line clearance may be required
- 40ft containers: Approximately 100 feet of straight-line clearance may be required
These measurements are approximate and may vary depending on the delivery equipment, property layout, road conditions, terrain, and specific delivery method.
Customers should provide photos, measurements, or other relevant site information when requested by Northpark Containers or the carrier.
Overhead Clearance
Adequate vertical clearance is required for the delivery vehicle, trailer, and container.
As a general guideline, approximately 14 feet of vertical clearance is recommended.
Customers are responsible for checking the delivery route for potential obstructions, including:
- Utility lines
- Tree branches
- Buildings and structures
- Fences
- Gates
- Signs
- Low bridges or other overhead structures
Customers should notify Northpark Containers of any potential access or clearance concerns before shipment.
6. Delivery Site Preparation
The customer is responsible for preparing the delivery site before the container arrives.
This includes:
- Clearing the delivery path
- Removing or securing obstacles
- Ensuring adequate access for the delivery truck
- Confirming sufficient ground and overhead clearance
- Providing any required gate access
- Ensuring the delivery area is suitable for the container
- Obtaining any necessary property-owner, zoning, HOA, municipal, or other approvals
Northpark Containers is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, property-access issues, or additional costs resulting from inadequate site preparation or conditions that were not disclosed before shipment.
If the carrier determines that the delivery cannot be safely completed because of site conditions, the delivery may need to be rescheduled. Additional transportation, waiting, equipment, or re-delivery charges may apply where the circumstances are caused by the delivery site or customer.
7. Shipment Confirmation & Delivery Communication
Once an order has been scheduled for transportation, Northpark Containers or the assigned carrier may provide shipment and delivery information.
Customers may receive information regarding:
- Carrier or dispatch status
- Estimated delivery date
- Expected delivery window
- Delivery instructions
- Driver contact information, when available
Customers should remain available to communicate with the carrier and respond promptly to delivery-related requests.
Delivery Notification
The carrier or dispatch team will generally attempt to provide advance notice of delivery, often approximately 24 hours before the scheduled delivery, when operationally possible.
Advance notice is not guaranteed and may vary depending on the carrier and circumstances.
Customers should ensure that the delivery site is accessible and ready before the scheduled arrival.
8. Delivery Inspection
Customers are encouraged to inspect the container upon delivery, where reasonably possible and safe to do so.
If the customer observes apparent damage or a material discrepancy involving the delivered container, the customer should:
- Photograph the condition of the container and surrounding area;
- Document the issue as soon as possible;
- Notify the driver or carrier when appropriate;
- Contact Northpark Containers promptly with the order information and supporting photographs.
Customers should retain delivery documents and other relevant records.
Minor cosmetic characteristics, particularly on used containers, may not constitute damage or a defect. Examples may include ordinary dents, scratches, surface rust, paint variation, or other characteristics consistent with the product’s represented condition.
9. Delivery Damage or Incorrect Product
If a container arrives with apparent transportation damage or appears materially different from the product ordered, customers should contact Northpark Containers as soon as reasonably possible.
Northpark Containers will review the circumstances and, where appropriate, coordinate with the carrier or supplier to determine the appropriate resolution.
Depending on the circumstances, the resolution may include repair, replacement, exchange, partial refund, or another appropriate remedy.
Customers should not arrange major repairs, modifications, or disposal of the container before contacting Northpark Containers unless necessary to address an immediate safety issue.
10. Delivery Delays
Northpark Containers makes reasonable efforts to meet the estimated 4–10 business day delivery timeframe. However, delivery schedules may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:
- Severe or extreme weather
- Road closures or restrictions
- Carrier availability
- Traffic or transportation disruptions
- Port or terminal congestion
- Mechanical issues
- Unexpected logistical delays
- Government or regulatory restrictions
- Other unforeseen operational circumstances
If we become aware of a significant delay, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an updated status and revised delivery estimate.
Delivery dates are estimates unless a specific delivery date has been expressly confirmed in writing.
11. Failed or Rescheduled Deliveries
A delivery may need to be rescheduled if:
- The delivery location is inaccessible;
- The site is not adequately prepared;
- Required access or clearance is unavailable;
- The customer is unavailable when customer presence is required;
- The customer provides incorrect delivery information;
- Weather or road conditions make delivery unsafe; or
- The carrier determines that delivery cannot safely be completed.
If a delivery must be rescheduled because of circumstances attributable to the customer or delivery site, additional transportation, storage, waiting, re-delivery, or related charges may apply.
Northpark Containers will communicate applicable charges and rescheduling arrangements when reasonably possible.
12. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for:
- Providing accurate delivery information;
- Providing a complete and accessible delivery address;
- Ensuring the delivery site is properly prepared;
- Confirming adequate ground, access, and overhead clearance;
- Removing obstacles from the delivery route;
- Providing gate or access information when required;
- Informing Northpark Containers of unusual site conditions before shipment;
- Obtaining any required permits or property approvals; and
- Being available to receive or coordinate the delivery when required.
Customers are responsible for determining whether the property is suitable for the intended placement and use of the container.
13. Special Delivery Arrangements
Certain properties or delivery circumstances may require additional services or equipment, including but not limited to:
- Crane services
- Forklift services
- Extended-distance placement
- Difficult-access delivery
- Restricted-access locations
- Additional handling
- Storage or holding services
- Re-delivery
- Special transportation arrangements
Such services may involve additional charges and will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
14. Delivery to the Contiguous United States
Free standard shipping generally applies to eligible orders delivered within the 48 contiguous United States.
Deliveries to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, remote locations, or locations requiring special transportation arrangements may be subject to different shipping terms and additional charges.
Customers should contact Northpark Containers before ordering if their delivery location falls outside our standard service area.
15. Relationship to Other Policies
This Shipping & Delivery Policy should be read together with Northpark Containers’ Terms & Conditions and Refund & Returns Policy.
If a product-specific invoice, Proforma Invoice, order confirmation, or written agreement contains delivery terms that expressly differ from this policy, the product-specific written terms may apply to that order.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
